John 3:16

Christ’s sacrifice for us is truly a marvelous and powerful thing to contemplate. I feel very blessed to be a part of a community that celebrates and reflects on His death and resurrection each year, with multiple events and services throughout Holy Week. Here are a few pictures of our Easter weekend:

A Maundy Thursday service and dinner at Cristo Rey started off the events of the week.

The Good Friday service was a powerful, sobering time.

Saturday was a really fun time of lunch and fellowship with the missionary families! Jane participated in her first Easter Egg hunt and seemed to enjoy the activities immensely!

Saturday evening, each cell group met for a prayer vigil. We read through the Bible’s main redemptive stories, sang, and prayed.

Sunrise service on Easter Sunday started at 6am in a park nearby.

Easter Sunday celebrated not only the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, but also marked the two year anniversary of Cristo Rey!

Lunch!

All in all, it was a full weekend, but a very, very good one!

Christ has risen. He is Lord. He is ruling and reigning over the world. What glorious news!!

“The earth is the LORD’s, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods. Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation. This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah.

Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.” Psalm 24

It is a Beautiful Thing!

Here is the March e-bulletin for Peru Mission. I am very humbled by the number of people that pray with and for us, send us encouragement, and come to help. Seeing with my own two eyes how the body of Christ all around the world unites in a common hope and vision. What a truly beautiful thing it is.

“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” Gal 6:9
